Happy Place
~Written at the end of 2004 (18 y/o me)~
There is a place we love to be
A place we can go to be happy and free
Where troubles can rest and minds are at ease
A place we can go to do as we please
It’s the places we go to late at night
The dreams that give us wondrous sights
Cherish these moments, for they’re gone in an instant
As time passes by, they become quite distant

I often find myself going to my happy place in moments of reflection, and your poem captures that feeling really well. I like how the poem moves from comfort to the realization that those moments pass so quickly. Simple, but very meaningful.
I love this poem April. Because everyone should have an happy place. When you get to my age, most of who I know find the armchair or their beds become their happy places. But. I try and stay active as much as I can, so a nice walk in the park right outside our back garden gate, is my happy place because they have outside fitness gym machines that you can exercise as much as you want to without it costing you anything.
Have you ever thought of putting all your wonderful poems together in a book? April? I would be your first buyer!
