The Girl That Got Away
~Written at the beginning of 2005 (18 y/o me)~
Before the fire in my eyes turn to embers
I want to be the one that you remember
The face that you see in your mind
That person that you long to find
When your nights are filled with pain and sorrow
There seem to be no good times to borrow
Think of me, as you’re falling asleep
Think of me, and begin to weep
Weep for the girl that you let get away
Weep for the girl that you miss every day
You should take away your pride, and let her know
That you love her still, and you‘ll stop this show
For then you will realize, how much she still cares
That the love you feel, is something she shares
Cry to the World, and let it show
That you love the girl, or just let her know
