I think what resonated with me is that beneath all the discussion about love, identity, and difference, this is really a poem about dignity. About allowing people the freedom to be human without constantly putting them on trial 🤍🙏❤️
That's the one thing I could never understand. Why do people give a shit about who someone else loves? Let them live in peace, I mean my god clean up your side of the street before you go judging others. I never could wrap my mind around that one very simple question: How does it effect you or your life? If you want to hate people, then go ahead and do it privately so the rest of us can focus on other things. Your kind is living on borrowed time and the day will come where nobody cares who people love. I'm waiting for you to die so we can try to fix the problems you have created.
April, the question at the center of this poem is simple in the best way: if someone’s love brings them joy, peace, and a place to be fully themselves, why should that threaten anyone else? I appreciate how you keep returning the reader to the person who actually has to live the life, bear the cost, carry the dreams, and seek love when the day is done. The strongest part for me is the movement from judgment to kindness, because you remind us that the measure of a life is not who someone loves, but how much love, mercy, and goodness they give while they are here. Thank you for writing this with such clarity, compassion, and moral steadiness.
I grew up in Brighton, among the gays. I approve of this message. Subbed

It truly upsets me so much that people don’t allow others to just live their life as they see fit. 😭
Love it as always. April.

Ever marvel at how things arrive just when you look for confirmation of something you've been deciding? Thank you.
Love this for you 💗
