Blimey April you arenβt asking for much! πI should get your order in ASAP even if you live to be 100. Even God needs some time to sort THAT LOT out.
Good luck with THAT one April.
You definitely deserve it but itβs a BIG ASK even for the Boss himself.
I myself just need a 100 years rest before I start all over again. I am absolutely knackered now at 73 so I donβt know how I WILL be feeling at 83? Great article though April I really enjoyed reading it, and it makes a great topic and it was well written. Thank you for sharing it with us all HERE on SS.
I truly enjoyed reading your post. It was just so refreshing to hear someone speak about exactly what they want so unapologetically. May you get the exact life you desire in your next life, and hopefully still have some of it in this lifetime. π
Jackie, your hope that April experiences some of that imagined life in this lifetime reaches an important part of her reflection. Speaking desire that plainly can reveal what already deserves cultivation now: deeper family belonging, adventure, creativity, learning, travel, and room to live more fully as herself. I appreciate the generosity with which you honored Aprilβs freedom to want what she wants while also pointing toward the possibilities already within reach.
I do think about it, but it's hard to say what I would want next time around. I'm not finished with this life yet. I think the best thing would be wait until this one runs its course, think about this life, the lives before that and think what in all of these lives my soul hasn't experienced yet, and to give that a shot.
April, thank you for this wonderfully fun invitation to imagine!
In my next life, I would be born somewhere in Europe that calls to my soulβItaly, France, Denmark, Ireland, or Scotland. Truthfully, I would be happy to have one life in each.
From birth, I would be free to love whomever I choose. When I speak of my dog talking to me, fairies dwelling in the glen, conversations with the dead, and intuition guiding my way, no one will doubt me. These will simply be accepted as ordinary truths.
I will have a lovely singing voice, feet that can walk for miles and miles, a strong and grounded body, fluency in four or five languages of my choosingβand wings to fly.
My family will be loving, healthy, and supportive. My personal resources will be sufficient for my needs, with enough left over to help others. My work will leave space and time for family, writing, travel, and personal exploration.
And through it all, I will be a person of peace.
Thank you, April, for this joyful exploration. I loved imagining it!
April, beneath this imagined next life I hear a remarkably consistent set of longings: a family held together by love, room for adventure, work that lets curiosity travel, creative freedom, beauty, learning, and enough security to explore the world without shrinking yourself. Your commitment to give your children the steadiness and unconditional presence you once wished had surrounded you changes the whole reflection, since one of the lives you are dreaming about is already being built through what you choose to pass forward. The curiosity, writing, travel, advocacy, and hunger to understand people that you hope your spirit would carry into another life are already recognizable in the woman you are here. I have no words to convey how deeply your words touched me, April; thank you for trusting us with both the fantasy and the longings underneath it.
You have created a beautiful world, a wholesome family. I think everyone deserves to create their own world. You do too. May you live all your good wishes.π
'Bear with me in this fantasy story I am creating. Some of it may seem a bit trivial or selfish or what have you. But I canβt help that I want what I want. Besides itβs my fantasy anyway. I can make it any way I want.'
Heck yeah, you can! I think we do this, across myriad lives, to fully experience the human condition.

Well, thank you for reading. Iβm not asking for much, just my own Utopia.

I like it. It sounds so similar to mine. All 5 of those places sounds pretty amazing. I hope you get all of that and more in your next life

Thank you. I sure do hope the Buddhists are right when they say that the more you do right in your current life the better your next one will be.

Thank you so much, I truly hope the same for you.
