Majesty of the Falls
Oh, the wonder of Niagara Falls! 🌈
I stood where the thunder of water roars free, A song older than time sang softly to me The mist kissed my face as it danced through the air, And wonder surrounded me everywhere The river rushed onward with unstoppable might, Turning the daytime to something more bright A million white diamonds seemed caught in the spray, As sunlight and water together would play The falls never hurried, yet never stood still, They moved with a power no human could will Each drop found its purpose, each current its way, As they’ve done for centuries, day after day I gazed at the curtain of emerald and white, A masterpiece painted by nature’s own light No palace, no kingdom, no treasure I’ve known, Could rival the beauty that Niagara has shown The thunder below and the rainbow above, Seemed woven together with wonder and love And there on the border of water and sky, I felt both so humble and destined to fly For some places leave you forever the same, While others ignite an unquenchable flame And long after leaving, one truth still remains - Part of my heart lives beside those great plains Where the mist meets the heavens and rainbows still call, I’ll carry the memory of Niagara Falls A place of such majesty, power, and grace, That time cannot lessen nor distance erase

This was so beautiful we were there in April your words sing to me.
April Gough 🦄, Niagara comes through here as a place where sound, mist, light, and movement gather into awe. The image of thunder below and rainbow above gives the poem its lift, turning the visit into an encounter with scale, beauty, and memory. The line about feeling both humble and destined to fly adds an interior turn, where the falls do more than impress the eye; they restore a sense of possibility. Thank you for sharing a reflection that carries both wonder and gratitude for a place powerful enough to stay with you after leaving.
